Up and Rolling

The new Coker unicycle arrived and the new air seat has been assembled. This beast of a unicycle is super-fast. And super-fun. Still working on the whole "getting on" factor. Coker Tire Co. has sponsored me for the trip and provided me with the "Big One" unicycle which has a 36" wheel. Oh, and please pardon the ridiculous socks in the picture. Although some of you would expect nothing less of me, it was St. Patrick's day after all...

More importantly, however, I am riding to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. My uncle, Richard Pleau, has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a potent plasma cell cancer. Through this personal experience, I have become aware of the LLS and its efforts to save the lives of so many cancer patients. I hope you will take the opportunity to join me in this endeavor by donating to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, helping me surpass my goal of $5,000. To contribute to the cause:

I plan to leave after I finish my finals, probably May 6, 2006, at which point I'll begin my journey westward... I might even stop by Duke to get my diploma along the way. ;) I'll be updating this during the adventure whenever I can, so check back for progress, but until early May, don't expect much.

Click here to find an adventure info page that's great for distribution, etc.

Carpe Diem...

Some candidates commit this error. By postponement you will be giving the school that you are applying for a feeling that you are not fairly interested. Keep in mind there are other candidates who would give their teeth just to be interviewed. Know the Company Study the current events of the company IT has become the dominant job contributor for the young Indians. A large number of Indian youngsters look for jobs in IT sector and fortunately, the opportunities of jobs in IT have multiplied. IT still dominates the Indian job market. Let us see what are the hot jobs in the IT sector India at the moment. YongZhou zero mountainous schools and teachers joint eat empty xiang Many law students today focus on scoring jobs at big firms on Bay Street (which generally refers to large and medium-sized corporate, litigation, and boutique firms in the Toronto downtown core). I don't necessarily blame them. The pay is great and these firms can be an excellent starting ground for a career. Of course, there are plenty of negatives to Bay Street as well. The purpose of the panel was to present an alternative career choice. While it's true that I'm not making as much money (at least not right now) as my law school colleagues who went the Bay Street, the experience of a criminal law career is second-to-none. I doubt many third-year lawyers have as much courtroom experience as I do (including a jury trial). Being a solo-practitioner also gives me a lot of freedom that one does not have when working for others. I've also got some great stories.
